General thoughts on today

This is one of those historic days - one that saw Queen Elizabeth II pass. Lot’s of thoughts, mainly how weird it will be not having a Queen. Her first Prime Minister was Winston Churchill! So much wisdom and experience there, part of political life but separate from it. She’ll be missed as we no longer have that constant at the heart of the nation. Such an embodiment of Christian life - unwavering faith and her love and service to her people.

It’s one of those moments where you’ll always remember where you were and who you were with. For me I was at home with Steph, Isaac and my Mum & Dad.

Work

Work was quiet - Alex is off and there was nothing urgent that needed doing. I am finding it difficult keeping on track with it being so quiet but still making good progress…more later once this Journal project settles down.

Exercise

Walked Isaac to school and went to get a coffee at the ridgeway. Should have done some weights but the news derailed that idea.

Prayer

Reading

Todays reading was Ephesians 5:1

Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father];

Thoughts

Interesting how yesterday’s reading was about the easy of salvation - just believe. Followed by the impossible challenge that salvation brings… imitate God through his example in the life of Jesus. Free entry to the hardest obstacle course with the knowledge that you’ll never fall - just be put on to try again.

Prayers

Today I think it’s all about thanks for the life and example of the Queen.

Computer

Still continuing to get to grips with Obsidian and this Journal. Also playing 7 Days to Die - it’s ok…

TV

Wall to wall coverage of the death of the Queen.

Food

Chinese - comfort food for a sad day
